According to a report, Meta is now preparing to introduce a new feature, which aims to increase group chat management. WaBetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp’s new feature, reported that WhatsApp is currently testing the “Admin Review” feature. How the new feature will work, let’s tell everything in detail.

WaBetaInfo reported that, with this feature, WhatsApp is providing an additional tool for group admins to better manage groups in case they are not available. The new feature is available on the Google Play Store with the Android 2.23.16.18 update for WhatsApp beta, WhatsApp is currently rolling out this feature to a select group of beta testers.

How this update will work?

As you can see in the screenshot above, group admins can experiment with a new option within the group settings screen. After enabling this option, every member of the group will have the ability to report the messages shared in the chat to the group admin. Once a message is reported, the group admin will have the option to remove the message for everyone or take appropriate action based on the nature of the content reported (for example, removing the sender from the group).

If seen, the new feature will help in maintaining a safe and respectful environment during the conversation in the group. With the ability to review messages sent by other members of the group, it can help group admins keep an eye on the group, even if they’re not around. Messages that need review will be listed in a new section found in the Group Info screen, and anyone in the chat can easily send a message for review to the admin by simply opening the message option.
